About the company: Azerigaz Closed Joint Stock Company was reorganized in July 2009 by the Azerbaijan Republic President’s order “On improving the management framework of the oil-gas industry”, and continues operating as Azerigaz Production Union within SOCAR.

Receiving natural gas from delivery points within the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Production Union is performing distribution and sale of these gas volumes. Working for the PU are scientists, engineers, maintenance and technical personnel. Besides, there are a construction-renovation department, storage service, as well as other units, departments and zones performing production operations within the PU. The PU is providing gas to about 2.4 million consumers in all the regions of the country. There is an optimal control mechanism over a complex gas distribution system consisting of gas control points, pipelines and many other technical and technological facilities, which makes it possible to perform this function. Azerigaz PU is actively engaged in new projects within the framework of SOCAR’s in-progress broad program on restructuring of the field and set-up of production in line with modern requirements.   

The PU's   mission is to ensure safe operation of the gas network in the Azerbaijan Republic in accordance with the requirements of the legislation and international standards, protect the environment, achieve customer satisfaction by providing uninterrupted, high-quality and safe gas supply to all natural gas consumers, as well as introduce modern equipment and technologies in all areas of the PU by using advanced methods that have a positive impact on the development of gas production, and ensure sustainable development. The “PLAN-FULFILL-CHECK-DEVELOP” motto is taken as the basis in order to ensure sustainable development.
